The Bank of England says that Google searches are the best way to predict the housing market

The Bank of England has today issued a report stating that the best indicator of the housing market is from seeing how many times phrases like 'estate agents in...' are used per month. Researchers have used a Google tool to count how many times such keyphrases have been used over time and a significant match was found between high uses of those keyphrases and rises in housing prices. The bank concluded that this analysis was a better tool than all the other indicators.

The study confirms not just that Google and other search engines are important gauges of what happens in the real world but also how important it is for estate and letting agents to ensure that they use Google to their advantage and have their websites show on the first page of Google when searchers look for local estate agents or letting agents to instruct agents to sell or let their property. This process is called SEO or search engine optimisation.

To discuss how to get your website onto the first page you may want to call Estate Solutions on 020 7193 4747 or email seo@estatesolutions.co.uk

Its clear that Google is taking over the world and we had all better be 'in it' but its interesting that the bank are getting involved in this. Whats their agenda I wonder? A gentle puch towards resurrecting the bubble?
